At St. Patrick’s Special School, our two school-owned buses are so much more than vehicles — they are lifelines of joy, independence, and connection for our incredible students.

These buses enable our children to:

✅ Enjoy horse riding sessions that are both fun and therapeutic

✅ Visit Playzone and Leisure Max during quiet times – safe spaces where they can laugh, play and grow in confidence

✅ Explore nature and history at Johnstown Castle, Bree Hill, and Vinegar Hill with picnic days filled with smiles

✅ Relax at the cinema with their friends

✅ Experience the magic of the beach (yes, a few lucky classes made it this year!)

✅ Enjoy social outings and shopping trips to places like The Village at Wheelocks – one of their all-time favourite days out

These trips aren’t just outings…

✨ They are moments of inclusion.

✨ They are opportunities to learn beyond the classroom.

✨ They are memories that build confidence, happiness, and friendships.

But Right Now, We & Our Buses Need Your Help

Keeping the buses on the road comes at a significant cost: Maintenance and repairs

⚠️ Unexpected breakdowns

And sadly, the Department of Education provides no funding for any of this.

For years, our annual Christmas Fair has helped us bridge the gap. Thanks to the incredible generosity of people like you, we’ve managed to keep the buses running — but we urgently need support again this year to ensure our students don’t lose this vital resource.
