Help Keep Rosie Safe and Sound

My mom, Rose (or Rosie, if you know her), recently had major surgery to help her stay ambulatory. When I got here to help take care of her after the Homeless Memorial Blanket Project ended, I realized that the furniture in her senior living facility, the couch and chair set I grew up with, are falling apart. Not hard to believe, considering I'm in my 40s! My mom needs new furniture.

I know none of us can afford to buy her a couch. I know I can’t. But she needs one. I know she needs a chair she won’t fall out of - and undo the good the doctors have done fixing her leg and building her a new knee.

I asked the Charles Bruce Foundation if we could set up a fundraiser to get her a few of the things she needs. The answer - “That artist, Rosie Kapp who has dedicated her life and talents to social justice? You bet.”

So now it’s up to us. If you can afford to help me and the Charles Bruce Foundation help my mom, please drop a cup of coffee’s worth ($5). Or a pound of coffee’s worth ($15) here into our fundraiser - and together - maybe we can get this homeless advocate some sturdy furniture for her home.

We went online to price out the items she desperately needs. Feel free to pledge toward a certain item. My hope is that, eventually, we will be able to get all of them for her, my humble hero.

These are ballpark figures for prices (some items are currently on sale) as of today (01/01/2023):

Sofa -- $600

Power Lift Recliner -- $800

Kitchen Table and Chairs -- $500

Shipping -- $300 (estimated)

GoFundMe Fees -- $150 (estimated)
