Help Keep Our Neighborhood Pantry Stocked

Donation protected
In 2021, my neighbors and I installed a little free pantry on my front lawn, as so many people in our city had lost their jobs and needed help. Food banks are wonderful, but they often ask people for their names and other identifying information that some are reluctant to give. We have a diverse neighborhood including people of all income levels. Not everyone was able to weather the financial storm.

The pantry is used heavily, much more than we expected. Families come with their children and "shop." We have been able to supply not just food, but also some shampoo, feminine products, and even baby food. Grocery prices are high, wages are stagnated, and working-class people are struggling.

We don't believe anyone should be hungry, certainly not children. There is enough food in the world to feed everyone. Plus, people should be able to get the support they need and maintain their dignity, without having to justify their need or explain their situation. Domestic violence victims have come to the pantry, as have older veterans whose social security checks don't stretch far enough.

We will continue stocking the pantry, but we just need a little help to keep it filled. Every penny donated will pay for shelf-stable food and supplies for the pantry.
