Hi all! If you’ve been following our dad’s journey through the immigration court system + the political state of today you know that it’s been absolutely bonkers. Our dad was detained in April of 2024 and thanks to you guys we were able to fundraise $9k for his release and lawyer, and for that we are eternally grateful. Since then, he’s been in a legal limbo until recently. On February 12th, 2026, my dad had a second court date in which we hoped to terminate his court proceedings. His lawyer filed a motion, however, the judge denied it, citing that he now needs a second petition through my mom (who is a green card holder!) in order to grant a cancellation of proceedings.

Our dad currently has a petition through USCIS to get his green card and the lawyer is going to expedite his petition, but the judge gave us a May 1st deadline to submit a new petition for him. We are hoping to lean on our community to fundraise to help us offset the costs. We want nothing more than to keep our dad with us.
