For years, Professor Pigeon (“The Pigeon”) has carried Burners across Black Rock City — delivering water, supplies, music, dancing, connection, and many moments of playa magic.
Some of our favorite moments are giving first-time Burners their very first mutant vehicle ride or helping weary travelers reach their destination. Baggage Check, home to The Pigeon, exists to create a place where Burners can set down their emotional baggage and reconnect with themselves and each other.
This year, The Pigeon needs critical repairs, maintenance, and a safer, upgraded trailer to make the journey from Seattle to Burning Man and Pacific Northwest regional burner community art events such as SOAK, Critical NW, and SeaCompression. We need to complete repairs before heading to playa in August. Without securing funding, the Pigeon won’t make it back to the Playa this year.
Every year, the Pigeon helps create moments of delight, connection, and care across Black Rock City. We are raising $4000 to repair and preserve this beloved community art project, and ensure it continues to serve the playa community for many years to come.
