I’m originally from Denver, Colorado, and moved to Texas hoping for a new start. After I met my daughter’s father and became pregnant, things took a turn for the worse—he kicked me out and threw away all my belongings. With nowhere else to go, I reached out to a friend in San Antonio and tried to get back on my feet. Just as I was preparing to return home, I was robbed at gunpoint. They took my purse with everything I had left, leaving me with no money and no documentation.

Now, it’s just me and my daughter. Her father isn’t involved, so I’m all she has. I’m doing everything I can to keep her safe, but I’m out of options and at risk of being homeless in the cold. My biggest fear is losing her to CPS because I can’t provide a safe place for us to stay. I’m reaching out for help so we don’t end up on the streets, and so my daughter can stay warm, healthy, and happy.
