Help Keep Meals on Wheels Western Australia Alive

We urgently need your help to raise $10,000 to keep Meals on Wheels WA operational during a critical time of change in aged care.

Meals on Wheels WA (MoWWA) is the peak body supporting local Meals on Wheels services across Western Australia, ensuring that vulnerable older people continue to receive not only nourishing meals but also vital wellbeing checks and social connection.

Our network of local providers—some government-funded, others completely independent—supports seniors in remaining healthy, connected, and independent in their homes. These services are often the only regular human contact clients receive, making them a lifeline for health, safety, and social wellbeing.
But we are now at a crossroads.

Why We Need $10,000 Now

MoWWA is run entirely by volunteers. We operate on goodwill, community spirit, and the smell of an oily rag. But goodwill can only go so far—we urgently need funds to cover:

-Critical coordination support and advocacy to help providers navigate aged care reform
-Basic administration and IT systems
-Trademark protections
-Membership fees to Meals on Wheels Australia

Without this funding, we risk ceasing operations, leaving our Western Australian services without the advocacy, coordination, and support they need to survive.

The Bigger Picture: Aged Care Reform
As the Federal Government undertakes sweeping reforms to the aged care sector, local Meals on Wheels services face growing uncertainty. Many are already closing their books to new clients due to funding pressures.

Commercial food delivery providers are now stepping in—offering drop-and-run services with no wellbeing checks or personal engagement. This is not aged care. It’s a transaction, not a relationship.

MoWWA is fighting to protect the community-based, volunteer-led model that’s worked for decades.

But to continue that fight, we need your support.

What You Can Do
Your donation today will help us stay afloat in the short term—keeping the doors open, the systems running, and our volunteers supported—while we continue to advocate for long-term solutions.

If you believe older Australians deserve more than a reheated meal dropped at the door…
If you believe in keeping people connected and cared for in their own homes…
If you believe in the power of volunteers and community…
