Help keep life-changing housing support alive in Southwark

Donation protected
For five years, Kineara has served the Southwark community through the housing emergency with crucial support and services. Now, our vital housing projects are at risk of closing this September unless we raise £20,000. Your donation could help keep a family in their home, support a child living in temporary accommodation, or provide urgent housing advice before it’s too late.

We started with a mission to ensure no one faced homelessness and/or housing insecurity alone.

We helped families facing eviction sustain tenancies.

We helped clients sleeping rough find properties, arrange and attend viewings and buy furniture.

We supported our clients through relationship breakdown, unemployment, mental health struggles, health difficulties.

We bridged language and communication barriers.

We helped our clients become informed of their rights and access benefits.

We became the link between services. When our clients faced issues that no service covered, we built new paths to provide support that was holistic, integrated, wrap around.

For the Council, we helped share the workload and reduce the overwhelm.

With the Southwark Law Centre, we shared caseload to make sure our clients got the support they needed.

We made sure we were always in your corner.

But now, we are at immediate risk of closure. Funding for two of our most impactful Southwark projects–the Rent Support Programme (RSP+) that supports private rented sector tenants understand their rights, negotiate with landlords & stay in their homes, as well as the School Housing Advice project that sits insite the schools to find and support families of children affected by temporary accommodation–ends this September.

What this means is a crucial loss within a housing ecosystem that is already pushed to its limits.

Without these projects, the Council will no longer be able to direct clients to us, which means that access to housing support will be severely delayed and nearly impossible for people already facing multiple and complex vulnerabilities.

It means when schools identify pupils struggling due housing instability, we will no longer be able to step in and advocate with decision makers on behalf of the families.

Unless we raise £20,000 by August 2026, families and individuals facing extreme vulnerabilities in Southwark will no longer be able to access this support.

Your donation can help make a huge difference in our ability to sustain our projects till the end of 2026.

Every pound you donate will go into continuing our projects for one more day.
