Help Keep Greenland's Arctic Circle Trail Clean

My name is Leon, and I'm a 16-year-old student at Harriton High School in Pennsylvania. This June, I'm embarking on an incredible adventure with my dad and his friend Josian: hiking Greenland's breathtaking Arctic Circle Trail (ACT)! This remote trail stretches over 100 miles through stunning, wild landscapes.

Recently, during a webinar hosted by Lisa Dac from Destination Arctic Circle, I learned something that really struck me. The biggest issue facing this beautiful trail isn't the harsh weather or the remote location – it's trash left behind by hikers. Even worse, the volunteer association that works tirelessly to maintain and protect the ACT is significantly underfunded.

I believe we all have a responsibility to protect these wild places. So, as I hike the trail in mid-June, I'm committing to two things:

1. Cleaning Up: I'll be carrying extra bags to collect as much trash as I can find along the way, leaving the trail cleaner than I found it.

2. Fundraising: I'm launching this fundraiser to support the official Arctic Circle Trail association. Every single dollar raised will go directly to them, helping fund vital trail maintenance, conservation efforts, and educational outreach to prevent future littering that harms the fragile ecosystem and diminishes the experience for everyone.
