Help Keep Family Close During Jay’s Fight for a New Heart ❤️
Donation protected
Jay is a kind, brave 26-year-old who is currently facing the fight of his life. Two weeks ago, he was rushed into hospital following a rapid and severe deterioration in his heart condition. Doctors acted quickly, and he has since undergone major biventricle support surgery—a life-saving procedure that mechanically supports both sides of the heart, helping it pump blood around the body while he waits for a transplant.
Jay was first diagnosed with cardiomyopathy at age 18, a serious and inherited heart condition that tragically took his mum’s life when he was just 11 years old. At 23, Jay had an ICD (implantable cardioverter defibrillator) fitted to help manage his condition. But despite ongoing treatment, his health declined suddenly and significantly just weeks ago—leading to urgent intervention to keep him alive.
Jay is now in critical care at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, where he will remain until a suitable donor heart becomes available. That wait could last up to a year, followed by a further three months in hospital to recover and be closely monitored post-transplant.
Throughout this incredibly difficult journey, having his loved ones close brings Jay the strength and comfort he needs to keep going. We’re raising funds to help support his family and partner so they can travel to and stay near the hospital as often as possible.
Your donation will help cover travel, accommodation, and other essential costs, allowing Jay to be surrounded by the people who love him most during the toughest time of his life. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a huge difference.
Thank you for supporting Jay and helping his family stay by his side.
