We are eXplorminate, a group of like-minded 4X, strategy, and tactics gamers that live and breathe these genres, and like you, we want to champion these genres for years to come.
It's become clear through our recent poll (find it here) that you guys want the site to remain open. In order to do that, we're going to need to create a foundation of funds to pull from to hire new authors, pay our existing authors, and upgrade our site's infrastructure, and upgrade some of our hardare. This will allow us to create more content and get eXplorminate back up and running the way we mean it to be running: with timely, well-written, analytical reviews, thought pieces, and more. We also want to return to our roots of being a bit more critical, meaning that we want to have the time and funding to REALLY dive into these games before delivering verdicts, instead of relying on "Day One" reviews that are usually a bit less accurate.
Helping us reach our goal will provide the monetary platform that we'll need to restart this endeavor that we began almost eight years ago. Frankly, the harsh truth is that while we may have been able to do this ad-free and for very little return on our investments until now, we simply can't afford to continue doing it in this climate and in our current life situations without compensation.
Help us keep eXplorminate ad-free. Help us reboot the site, generate some income to compensate existing and new authors, and keep the lights on for years to come. We want to remain a voice that you can trust and a site you can turn to for in-depth and exhaustive reviews and previews, but we can only do it with YOUR help.
