Help Richmond's own Daud Abdullah stay in his home and keep making our community beautiful for all!
Many of you know Daud as one of reasons Richmond is such a beautiful space . Whether you've attended a Treasure Box Academy class, hung out with him at an Urban Tilth or Rich City Rides event, or seen one of many mosaic creations on city trash bins and buildings, Daud's presence in Richmond has had an impact on you. Even more, Daud's work has impacted any person riding down Macdonald, strolling through Unity Park, or walking around Civic Center Plaza.
Daud always says, "art makes you smart," and I know that when we see his work all around Richmond, we feel that art in our heart. Daud always strives to share his knowledge and magic with everyone, young and old, newcomers and longtimers, anyone across any spectrum willing to open their minds and hearts to making something beautiful.
Like many folks in Richmond, and like so many artists throughout the Bay Area, Daud is currently struggling to stay in this community. While his art is something we all treasure, the rising cost of living here is threatening to push him out. I'm asking this community, big, beautiful and diverse as it is, to come together to support someone who truly represents the heart of Richmond. Help me raise enough money for Daud to secure housing stability and remain in the home he's made for years right in the heart of Richmond.
Daud is everywhere, always participating, always connecting, always giving back and supporting the organizations and work that are making Richmond a safe, healthy, happy place for everyone. Please consider donating and/or sharing to help Daud stay in his home and in his community!
