Help Keep Crow & Co. Alive in Kansas
Donation protected
Friends,
Kansas is a culture made of rugged individualists; people who stepped away from lives in cities choked by the coal smoke and factory hell of the Industrial Revolution to break ground on country entirely alien to them and start over under big skies to tend golden fields and reach for the stars.
But even those with the most pioneering spirit quickly learned that survival, at its core, is dependent on community. Barns don't raise themselves. Cattle aren't much use if there isn't anyone to sell to. And a potluck can't exist when there's only one dish at the table.
So it's in that spirit that I come to you to say that, in order to continue, we need your help. Our move meant good things for my health and our overall well-being, but it also meant higher costs when I couldn't be in the space myself. Our summer was also more sparse than we'd hoped and the fall has been even marginally worse.
I left Kansas determined to keep this space alive for all of you that we had to leave behind, because, like the other work we continue in Reno County and Kansas at large even in our absence, we want to help build a space of love, joy, and acceptance in a world that's grown ever more hostile.
In order to see that vision, however, and if you believe Hutchinson needs this space as much as we do, we need your HELP, in any and every way you can give it. If that means buying the Crow & Co. Shirt from Bonfire (I'll have To Go Merch coming later this week), contributing to our GoFundMe, or just making a couple extra visits to the store to grab a gift card or an extra couple cups of coffee, please step forward and help us keep this space alive now and in years to come.
We've opened our extra wing of the store (get it?) primarily to keep our vision in Kansas alive, and it's starting to bear some fruit. But like my stubborn pioneering ancestors, I’ve waited until the absolute moment of desperation to make this ask, because I CAN DO THIS, DANG IT.
But I can't…we can't, no matter how much we want to. Not without the help of the community we've fought for all these years.
So please, help us raise this barn one more time and hold space in love for each other.
Thank you all so very much for building a space of love and joy with us, and for continuing to help us keep it alive.
