Help keep Children out of an Abusive Home
Hello, my name is Kiersten. I am currently funding for a close family friend. For reasons related directly to this predicament, they have asked for as much anonymity as possible. They are scared.
For the past two years, they have been going through the arduous process of custody trials. Every step of the way, the State has let them down. Most recently, they failed to show up for a hearing, clearing all the indicated reports for their abusive ex. What does that mean? It means their children are more likely than ever to be forced back into overnights at this man's home, to be exposed to potentially more dangerous situations. All the while, this entire court process has run this person dry.
They went into the process with years of saving, hoping to fund college for all three of their children. Instead, they have had to pay for lawyers in a seemingly endless process to keep their children safe. Now, they're out of money, with months still remaining in this round of court proceedings. As a single parent, they could use all the help they can get.
Our goal of $5,000 covers about one month of lawyer fees. With that being said, any small amount of money helps tremendously. $5 is a coffee for a tired single parent. $20 is a meal for the whole family. $50 is two new pairs of shoes. $100 is a new back-to-school wardrobe for them.
Anything you can give would mean the world to us.
Thank you so much for your kindness. Your help in this process will not be forgotten.
Sincerely,
Kiersten Edwards
