Hi friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

We are reaching out to round up help for our deeply loved Suzie and Barrett who are in the middle of a heartbreaking custody battle that threatens to uproot everything they’ve built together.

In 2021, Suzie and Barrett moved back home to California when Barrett was just 3 years old. Since then, California has been their home it’s where Barrett started school at 4 years old, made his friends that he’s grown up with, and where he’s looking forward to starting 3rd grade in a few weeks.

But now, their lives are being turned upside down.

Despite years of a long pattern of coercion and abuse, Suzie tried to keep peace for Barrett’s sake. Unfortunately, Barrett’s Father is now using the legal system to try and take custody and home away from Suzie, a move that would force Suzie and Barrett to reside in Duval County, Florida, where they have no family, no support system, and no stability.

Harold has significant financial resources and is using them to drag Suzie through an exhausting and expensive legal fight. Suzie, on the other hand, is a loving and dedicated mom doing everything she can to protect her son, but she can’t do it alone.

A temporary restraining order was granted and California has temporary protection over Barrett but the legal fight has just begun and we have a really hard fight to put up.

We are asking for your help to raise $8000 to cover critical legal fees so that Suzie can fight for what’s right: to keep Barrett safe, stable, and in the only home he’s ever known.

Every dollar raised will go directly to legal expenses to help Suzie retain strong representation and keep Barrett in California, where he’s surrounded by love, friends, school, and a true sense of home.
