I’m writing on behalf of my dear friend, who’s currently in a heartbreaking and urgent legal situation. She’s fighting to protect her son, Atlas, and needs our help.

Atlas’s dad has made some concerning and unsafe choices recently, and despite that, he plans to take Atlas back to Peru. While there was once an agreement to co-parent internationally, that was based on the belief that both parents would provide a stable and responsible environment. That’s no longer the case.

My friend has always been Atlas’s primary caregiver. Even though custody is technically 50/50, she’s the one who has given him consistent love, stability, and safety every single day. Now she’s being forced to go back to court to ensure Atlas remains protected—until his father can demonstrate a lasting commitment to sobriety and safe parenting.
