Help Keep a Waltham Activist Housed
Donation protected
Our friend and long-time Waltham housing activist Rogelio Rubio is facing possible eviction after a series of surgeries that prevented him from working and keeping up with his rent. Rogelio has been active within WATCH CDC, Chaplains on the Way, and Tenants of Waltham. He currently has an agreement with his landlord to stay housed if he can pay back his back rent a month and a half at a time, with the caveat that he must pay 2 months upfront by Nov. 5th which would be at total of $4,400.
Many in Waltham are one illness, one missed paycheck, or a series of losses away from losing housing. We come to you today in the hopes of preventing another eviction in a city that continues to see a rise in community members losing housing. Rogelio has fought for others and now it is time we fight for him.
We are hoping to raise this large sum of money in 5 days. It is possible! We have seen the generosity of our community surpass larger obstacles in the past. Please join us as we fight to keep this community member and fighter for housing justice in his home. Solidarity forever.
