Help Keep a Safe House for Trafficking Victims

We would like to ask your collaboration for Proyecto Espejo (Mirror Project), a shelter of the NGO Diaconía. It is a safehouse with room for 8 women, victims of trafficking in human beings, alone, pregnant or with children in their care. Women like Abebi.
Abebi has had a hard life since she left her country in search of a better life. During her journey she suffered repeated sexual abuse from the mafias that brought her to Spain. Nevertheless, thanks to her strength and courage, Abebi has been able to leave behind these organized networks, going from trafficked victim to survivor. Her resiliency and bravery have become an inspiration, a mirror in which we can all look and be encouraged.
Over the past few months in Proyecto Espejo, Abebi has been able to heal and refocus her life. She has started believing that a different future for her and her daughters is possible. In Proyecto Espejo women can find a refuge, for up to 18 months, from the criminals that chase them. We offer legal assistance, psychological care and education specifically aimed towards a successful access to the labor market in Spain.
In the nearly two years that Proyecto Espejo has been opened, we’ve been able to change the life course of dozens of women. Now due the effects of the economic crisis caused by Covid-19 we need your heelp more than ever.
Amid this crisis and in order to sustain the work achieved until now, we see ourselves in the need to raise funds. You can help ensure that the doors of Proyecto Espejo continue open to offer women like Abebi a real opportunity to achieve their dreams.
