My name is Kacy Jahn, little sister to Keely Danielson and auntie to Silas. I’m raising money for them because my sister has faced trial after trial and has never wavered in her love, compassion, and devoted parenting to Silas. She found our father the morning he passed away tragically. Ever since, I have noticed the weight of that on her shoulders as well as the weight of her ex-husband's belittling comments and resentments towards her since their divorce. The grief of losing an incredibly loving father and the end of a marriage is a lot for anyone to carry at one time. This has turned my sister’s strength and power into depression and fear. My heart breaks for her every day because she is unable to provide for Silas with a career she loves because the custody schedule is based solely on her ex-husband's work schedule. He is a policeman on a 9 day rotation, 4 days on, 5 days off, and sort of alternates like so, leaving her with limited opportunities, an unrealistic schedule, and missed holidays. Which means Keely would have to find a job that fits the inconsistent days each week in order to spend any time with her son, and not have to pay for childcare when he isn’t at school. Because we all know how expensive childcare is.
I agree with my sister that spending her time with Silas for the 50% of the time that she has him throughout the year is crucial to Silas’s upbringing and his relationship with his mother.
I want to raise this money so she is able to pay for an attorney so she can get a fair custody schedule in place. She deserves that to the very least. Her ex-husband has tried to hurt her and keep her down too long and after she left a bad marriage with nothing but 500 dollars to her name, he hasn’t stopped the bullying. I can’t stand for injustices like this, especially when it comes to a woman that loves with all her heart and wants nothing but her son to feel that and be seen and raised into a good man.
This is the best way I can think to support my sister on her journey and show her that she matters and people do care and do see how hard she tries.
God bless you all and THANK YOU for caring about our single moms out there trying their best with the very little they have.
