A Humble Request for Support

This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, asking for help. But here I am, humbling myself and reaching out to my community.

For the first time in my career, I have been unemployed for over six months. Despite aggressively interviewing, networking, and applying to countless roles, I am still seeking an opportunity that will allow me to provide for my son and maintain our household. Unfortunately, New York State’s assistance programs have strict requirements that I do not meet, leaving us with no support.

Now, I am facing eviction, utility shutoffs, and mounting rental arrears. As a single mother, my priority is ensuring my son’s stability and keeping a roof over our heads, keeping him in school without disruption, and making sure he doesn’t have to experience the weight of these challenges.
