Nesbit Park Upgrade is on the way!

No more getting lost in the forest!

Kayo McLaughlin has chosen to update the map and improve the Trail Wayfinding Signs, in the 335.8 acre forest, to make it more accessible to his community as he works towards Eagle Scout. Thank you for donating to improve Bartlett's biking and hiking experience!

Special Message from Kayo:

Hello Bartlett - my name is Kayo McLaughlin, I am a Life Scout working towards the Eagle Scout Rank. One of the requirements to become the rank of Eagle Scout is to plan and execute a project to help my community.

My project is all about updating all the signs in Nesbit Park in Bartlett. A new detailed metal map installed at the entrance will be the first new addition you will see at the park. I will be doing minor repairs on the big signs in the front of the park that will hold this new map, including replacing rotted wood, cleaning plexiglass, and treating the wood to last many years to come. The most helpful part of this project will be updating all the signs throughout the trails with long lasting metal signs with mileage, you are here signs, reflective circles, Arrows, and Exit signs throughout all the trails. I will also be adding a trail specifically to the BMX area inside Nesbit Park. The hiking only trails will be cleaned up and marked both for a nature walk and a longer hike. With a new bike rack being installed, street bikes will then also be welcome, for those that want to bike over to the park and go for a hike. Biking and hiking enthusiasts from all over the community will be able to enter the park with confidence and truly enjoy nature when the project is completed.

To complete this amazing plan I need to fundraise to cover the costs. I really appreciate any donations towards improving Nesbit Park. This is a much needed project and completing this venture will take the involvement of my local community. Thank you!
