Help Kayla's community recover from the flood
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Cindy Jack and I have created this GoFundme for my dear friend Kayla Pickering and her community. Many of you know Kayla from Portland, Oregon who is living in Australia with her family. Six days ago tragedy struck Northern New South Whales with the worst flood in history Australia has ever seen. Kayla’s beloved community in Lismore went completely underwater all the way up to the rooftops. Her friends were trapped in their attics, homes, and rooftops trying to get out. Some were there for days waiting for help to come. Her friends were rescued by boat or kayaks leaving their homes full of water. Kayla and her family were extremely blessed that their home did not get flooded and they are safe. A landslide trapped their community from leaving along with the bridge to get out needing to be repaired, the power being out, and the cell towers, meaning no connection to the internet. Their amazing community who live on their side of where the landslide happened pulled together what resources they had to get this landslide cleared and repair the bridge as well. Many other communities all around them such as the Channon, Mullumbimby, Ballina, Nimbin, Coffee Camp, and all of their surroundings were affected by this rain. Either being trapped from landslides collapsed bridges or flooding. This is going to take a team effort to restore their community. We are asking for your help to make this happen.
As many of you know our Portland girl living in Australia runs her online coaching and energy healing business which relies on connection through the internet at home to help people worldwide. Without access to the internet, she is unable to run her business which also means no income to help her friends. Her husband Jonathan and Kayla also have an eco-friendly electrical business installing solar panels and all things electrical. With your help, they will have the money needed to get the supplies for restoring the power in their community's homes. Their friends have lost everything and they want to help in any way they can. Many of you have sent messages asking Kayla what you can do to help across the world. Before this flood, it already took a long time to get any packages to Australia from the USA and now we are unsure what the roads look like there for any post to where they live. The best way you can help right now is by sharing this post or by donating even just $5. Any donation we are extremely grateful for. Help Kayla and Jonny help their community. Giving them the funds to purchase needed supplies, purchase lost belongings, and take a huge weight off of their beloved friend's shoulders.
There is a lot of damage that has been done from this weather. Many are searching for food, fuel, and clean water. It’s heartbreaking what’s happened here in such a beautiful place in the world. Try to imagine for a moment what it would feel like to lose everything you have from a flood. The fear that you would feel trying to save your family, loved ones, and self. The feeling of being up all night unsure if your people are alive.
One of the homes that were flooded is her beautiful friends Renee and Nigel and many of you know their little boy Texas is battling leukemia while they are currently in Sydney for his treatment. The neighbors went to check on their house to see the couch, fridge, washing machine, and belongings floating around in their house. This is just one of Kayla and Jonnys many many loved ones' homes that have been affected by this flood.
Kayla knows that her soul chose to be here at this time. To be a beacon of light during these dark times. To lift others up and bring her healing tools to help others. Please help Kayla and Jonny help others as she has helped so many of you in this lifetime.
