Help Katie get a leg up! With the start of the new year comes a new insurance deductible. As Katie continues to invite us with her along this journey we are asking for a big show of support at this time. A new opportunity for life changing surgery has been presented where Katie will be traveling to Colorado with her family in less than a month!
With all of that being said the expenses Katie and her family will be hit with will be outrageous. As well, travel expenses to Colorado, lodging, and taking off a minimum of a month of work will impact their finances greatly. We are starting this go fund me to help relieve some of the stress. No one should have to stress over finances during a medical emergency. If you can donate to help the Patton family, please do. If you cannot we would greatly appreciate your support in sharing this. As well, please keep them all in your prayers.
If you would like to donate another way please reach out to Michelle Medlik, Rochelle Dodson, or Hannah Pannetti
Below is Katie’s post from Facebook to keep everyone updated on her current health situation:
“Due to the fact that my health situation has changed, I am scheduled for liver surgery March 9th in Colorado. I will have the 8-hour surgery at Rocky Mountain Cancer Center in Denver. The surgeon is internationally known in the cancer community. Lately my tumors have been making an overabundance of hormones which has caused a very dangerous and life-threatening syndrome called Carcinoid Crisis. So, the best solution is to "debulk" my liver. He will remove as many tumors from my liver as he can which will obviously eliminate their ability to create these mass amounts of hormone. I told him I want pictures of those suckers! The really great part of this is it will rewind the clock so to be speak. I am officially done with chemo which is such a relief! After the surgery, it will just be scans and monitoring to make sure nothing new develops.
My boyfriend, my parents, my kids and ex-husband are all going to Colorado with me. My sister and brother will be here holding the fort and helping with Jack! I am so grateful to have the love and support by them and all of you! As always, your prayers and well-wishes are appreciated and felt.
There is an old Irish saying..."May you live as long as you want, and never want as long as you live". My "wants" are simple these days and that is a blessing that cancer has brought to my life.
Let the countdown begin! ☘️” -Katie Patton
