Help Katie Make a Baby via IVF!

Donation protected

Ever since I was a little girl, I was never the type to have this big ol' dream wedding planned out, who I'd marry, etc. Even when I began dating in my 20's and even into my 30's, a wedding was still not something I planned.

However, I've had a running list of baby names for as long as I can remember. The main thing I've wanted out of this life is to be a mother. I was born to be a mother. I've always had big plans to raise a kid who's a badass, who's kind to others, a kid who believes in equal rights, stands up for others, lives their life fully regardless of other's opinions, and is an all-around rad little human.

I've struggled to find someone not only ambitious and driven like I am but also can handle a woman who is strong, independent, and ambitious as fuck. So a few years ago, I decided that I was going to say fuck it and have a baby on my own. I write about the journey here.

But it has proven to NOT be easy. I pretty quickly found a donor I liked. I tried 4 at-home attempts, all of which didn't work. Then I decided to see a fertility specialist. Month 1, my left ovary was the one with the best follicles, but my left tube is blocked. In month 2, I had a simple cyst that I needed to make go away. Then finally, month 3 was it; this was my time! I did a medicated IUI with my doctor which ultimately ended with a heartbreaking, big fat negative test after the two-week wait.

Unfortunately, my donor stopped donating years ago, and I only have one vial left. I really want to use this donor, so the best option is to go the IVF route. This allows us more flexibility with 1 vial and the ability to not only get pregnant but ideally have embryos on ice for future use and siblings should I choose to.

However, this shit is EXPENSIVE as fuuuuuuck. We're looking at roughly around $25,000. Hence the GoFundMe. The past 12 months have been a dumpster fire, businesses are struggling, and it's not like cash is flowing in by the mounds. And if you don't know, I work for myself. So I don't get to benefit from a stable paycheck or any sort of corporate insurance. My insurance doesn't cover any IVF. Not a single penny. If I'm lucky, they'll cover SOME of the medicines.

After my post on Instagram, I got a lot of DMs asking how they could donate or send me money and even had a few suggested they'd set this up for me. I wanted to be able to share my story with you personally, so I started it myself. I appreciate any and all help you can give. This is my life's dream, and I want it to become a reality this year and think IVF is the way for me and my future kiddo(s). THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

Also, since I know a lot of you coming here, are customers too, I wanted to offer 2 extras. If you donate $100 you'll get a $20 Metal Marvels gift card. If you donate, $500 you'll get a $100 Metal Marvels gift card. Just send me an email of your receipt to [email redacted].
