In the early morning hours on Saturday, May 23, my sister Katheryne (Bliss) Russell, her husband Nathaniel (Nate), and their two boys experienced a devastating house fire. They lost their home, their cars, and all of their personal belongings. By the grace of God, they walked away with their lives, and for that, we are eternally grateful. Thankfully, no one was physically hurt, but the emotional toll and the challenge of starting over are immense.
Now, Katheryne, Nate, and their boys are faced with the task of purchasing immediate necessities, beginning the insurance process, and rebuilding their lives from scratch. They are faithful members of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in DeKalb and valuable members of the local community. Donations to this fundraiser will help them replace essentials and cover urgent needs, providing immediate relief as they navigate temporary housing and work to get back on their feet.
Multiple people have reached out asking how to help. Your kindness, love, and prayers mean the world to Katheryne and Nate. Any support you can offer will make a difference as they face this difficult road ahead. Katheryne and Nate expressed: "We are extremely overwhelmed with the response from our friends, family, and community. We have a long road full of unknowns ahead of us. This has been one of the hardest things we've had to do in our lives."
