My name is Katelyn, and I am creating this fundraiser for myself and my three children after being the victim of a stabbing. Since August 9th, I have been out of work and trying to carry the weight of medical, emotional, and financial challenges all at once. The attack directly affected my face, neck, and chest, and I required almost 40 stitches in total. It has deeply shaken my confidence as I work through physical recovery. At the same time, my children are carrying their own trauma as school begins. They are afraid to sleep in their rooms alone, and as their mom, it is heartbreaking to watch them struggle while I am also trying to heal.

I am asking for help so I can focus on my physical recovery and on the emotional healing my children and I desperately need. The support from this fundraiser will help with school tech fees, gas for daily needs and appointments, therapy and counseling co-pays, and the possibility of moving to a safer home so we do not have to walk through the hallway where the attack happened every day. I truly hate to ask, and I wish I could continue to do it all myself, but I am forced to make this difficult decision.
