- K
When Kate was little, her nickname was 'Beautiful Golden Princess' because she had beautiful, golden hair and was definitely a princess.
In late September, at just 32 years old, Kate received a diagnosis of stage 3 breast cancer and has now shaved her beautiful golden locks as she embarks on a lengthy treatment plan involving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and surgery.
Following the initial shock, Kate commenced express fertility treatment (hoping for a sibling for baby Nikky one day!), rapidly preparing for her now weekly chemo sessions, with intermittent immunotherapy and fertility treatment. In a few months, she will transition to more aggressive chemo and further immunotherapy, likely followed by a double mastectomy and the removal of affected lymph nodes. This journey will be long and demanding, but her goal is to achieve remission and getting those golden locks back!
Kate works as a carer, cherished by her clients for her positivity and humour. However, as I write this Kate is on day four of a hospital stay due to an infection, and it's realistic to anticipate that as her treatment becomes more intense, she will not be able to continue her work. Nico and Nikky are by her side every step of the way, but the financial strain of bills, childcare, living expenses, and lost income will weigh heavily on their family. This is an added stress that no one should face while confronting such a significant challenge.
We are creating this GoFundMe to help relieve some of the financial burden so Kate can focus on her health and recovery. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference. Your support will help cover everyday necessities as she fights cancer and strives for remission.
Kate’s incredible resilience and inner strength are inspiring, but she can’t do this alone. Let’s come together to show her that she’s not fighting this battle by herself.
Thank you for your generosity, love, and support of our beautiful, golden princess.
