We’re Cayce and Kate, two trans women trying to make a life together with our two cats in Toronto. We’ve hit some difficult roadblocks and we need help getting through the summer so we can begin our new chapter in the fall.

HOW ABOUT THIS ECONOMY EH??? Last winter we moved into our apartment after 11 months of precarious housing, and have been working hard trying to make ends meet. Cayce is going to school part-time learning electrolysis, and working hard at her two part-time jobs in between class and homework. She has a full-time job lined up when she graduates later this year - but until then, our family's ability to earn money is really limited.

Kate has been applying to jobs all over, but as an American citizen, she’s having trouble finding anyone who will hire her in Canada. On top of this, most jobs in the states are hybrid or on-site, and moving back to the states is unsafe for us in the current political landscape. Between odd jobs and occasional freelance work, Kate is working on her first independent video game, and is aiming for a late summer release date.

Once Cayce is employed, we can apply for Kate’s open work permit and she’ll be able to apply for any Canadian job. We are not asking for assistance in paying sponsorship fees, we just need help getting us through the summer to the point where we can fund that ourselves.

If everything goes according to our plan, we are set for success in the fall, but we need help getting through the summer first.

We really appreciate your help, any amount of assistance will seriously help us pay our rent, afford our medications, and keep us and our cats fed.
