Help Kat and Carl replace their stolen items

Our dear friends, Kat Anderson and Carl Hall, owners of Word. A cafe, a bistro/bar and cafe located in the Bayview district of San Francisco, had their place broken into on September 10. The thieves got away with treasured musical instruments (Carl's beloved sax and harmonicas, his tool bag, guitar, bass and amp.) This is the fourth break-in that Kat and Carl have suffered, not to mention Kat's totaled parked car and Carl's stolen eBike, and the costs to fix and replace broken metal gates, doors and locks.

 

Word. A cafe has become THE PLACE for live music, great cocktails and a superlative SUNDAY BRUNCH. We spend most of our Friday nights there listening to wonderful live jazz and blues and meeting wonderful community members of the Bayview. Kat and Carl have made this a great community gathering and destination spot even during the difficult times of the COVID pandemic. But the financial struggle is still challenging.
