Kasaun & EJ were featured on MSNBC! https://vimeo.com/494475950
*They were also were featured in the New York Times: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/08/13/nyregion/coronavius-ny-parents-dead.html
EJ Fryson was living with his mother in an NYC homeless shelter for about a year. They were looking forward to moving out of the shelter and into their own home. But in March, EJ’s mom got sick with COVID. She died soon after. This is an especially devastating loss for EJ, whose father also passed away just a few years ago.
EJ’s brother Kasaun Fryson, a young man himself at 23, has heroically stepped in to take care of EJ, but his income is limited. He works at a Whole Foods (from which he had been furloughed during COVID) and continues to attend community college. He doesn’t want his brother to go into foster care, and is doing everything he can do to make his mom proud and to care for his little brother.
I hope that you can help EJ and his brother, so EJ has the future his mother wanted for him.
I am in contact with EJ's lawyer and social worker at Lawyers For Children and will make sure that EJ & Kasaun get the funds from your donations, which will be placed in a trust fund.
