Karydja and her family came to the United States from Haiti seeking safety and stability. They have been living here for 15 years (following the devastating 2010 earthquake in Haiti), under the Temporary Protective status. Unfortunately, their protection status is set to expire in February, and once it does, Karydja and her mother will face deportation, and will no longer be able to legally work or support themselves.
We are raising funds to help cover urgent legal fees so they can work with an immigration attorney to explore every possible option to remain safe and stable here in the U.S. Also, we are seeking support for basic household expenses, such as rent, food, utilities, and essentials.
They are hardworking, loving, and deeply grateful for every opportunity they’ve had here. Losing the protective status and their ability to work puts their entire future at risk, and we want to do everything we can to keep them safe and housed while they navigate the legal process.
Any amount you can contribute—big or small—will make a real and immediate difference.
Thank you for supporting my family during this incredibly difficult period. Your support means a great deal.
