Help Karmen's Journey to Independence

Hi! I am doing this Go Fund Me for my dear friend Karmen. I met her when she was incarcerated, helping her begin her journey in recovery from drugs, and we have been close ever since! She is so full of energy and so motivated to turn her life around against all odds. Karmen is highly intelligent, very committed to her recovery, has incredible resilience, and has the warrior heart of a budding activist. And to be honest, she has had a really hard road in many ways, and has almost no financial support. She already got a job and already got a promotion, but to get a better job, go to school and move out of the halfway house, she really needs a car in Sioux Falls, South Dakota which is sorely lacking in public transportation. It would be amazing if many people could contribute what they can, small to large to help her get a car which will really help her become the person she is meant to be!

"My name is Karmen and I am a 41 year old Native American from South Dakota. I am looking for help to buy a car because I have recently been released from prison and I live in a town that doesn't have decent transportation to get around. While incarcerated, I decided to change my life and joined NA. I got a college education, did programming for 18 months, and counseling to help me cope with the death of my mother from a drug overdose. I have built a new relationship with my loved ones and I am getting my 2 kids back once i am released from the halfway house. I will use this vehicle to go back to college and continue my education, to do outside NA meetings, to get to and from work and appointments, and to go to Native American gatherings to pray. I wish to be more involved in my Native community and to help serve those that are in need, giving back so freely what was given to me. Thank you."
