Hi! I'm Karina and I'm a student at SCAD majoring in Interior Design. .

I’m excited (and honestly still a little shocked) to share that I’ve been accepted into SCAD’s Spring 2026 Study Abroad program in Lacoste, France. This opportunity allows me to study and create in a historic medieval village while continuing my education in interior design; something I’m deeply passionate about.

What makes this even more meaningful is how it happened. When I first applied, I thought I had been waitlisted and assumed I wouldn’t be going. Then, right before New Year’s Eve, I received an email saying I hadn’t paid my deposit yet. After reaching out to the school, they realized there had been a mistake; I had actually been accepted all along. They extended my deposit deadline, and I truly took that moment as a sign that I’m meant to go and have this once-in-a-lifetime experience doing what I love.

Although my VA benefits cover my tuition, they do not cover travels or room and board. These are costs I am responsible for paying before March 15th, which includes housing, flights, and daily living expenses.

I’m starting this GoFundMe to help cover those upfront costs and make this opportunity possible. Any donation, big or small; would mean the world to me, and sharing this page is just as appreciated.

Thank you for supporting my journey, believing in my dreams, and helping me take this huge step forward in my education and career.
