Shalom. My name is Kourtney. I have started this fundraiser to help my family with unexpected expenses. Friday, August 1st, my mother Karen had a heart attack. She has been in the hospital since that evening and kept stable. On Wednesday, August 6th, she underwent open heart surgery. This surgery was supposed to be a triple bypass, but the surgeons found a 4th blockage and ended up doing a quadruple bypass on her. YHWH/God sustained her through her surgery and it was successful. This entire situation has put my family in a tough spot financially, especially my father, Alvin. He is disabled and is on a fixed income. We would be so very appreciative of any donations made to help us with gas money, food and any expenses that may arise during her recovery. The hospital my mother is in is 2 hours away from her and my fathers home. And is an hour away from me and my sisters home. And thats just the trip to the hospital, not including having to come back home as well. Often, me and my sister have to help my father with transport because he cant see to drive well.

We have had to eat out a lot, in hospital cafeterias. All of these expenses are adding up quicky as you can imagine. My mother will have to stay in the hospital for another week at least before she can come home.
