Help Karen Overcome Her Health Challenges

Hello Friends and Family.

Our darling Karen has been battling a series of debilitating medical challenges for the past two years. Guided by her excellent money skills, we had built up a good savings nest egg - but despite good medical insurance, the cost of treatments has outpaced our safety plans and our savings have now been depleted.

In a sudden recent setback, Karen has been hospitalized for relatively serious conditions brought on by the past challenges. She’s at Highland Park Hospital and getting excellent care. The plan is to keep her here for the short term, until she can tolerate solid foods again and rebuild her basic health. The initial prognosis is good but the duration of care will be extensive.

Before this setback, we had been planning to sell our Glencoe home to catch up on bills - with this recent medical emergency, we aren’t able to give her the care she needs while also working through a major life move. This is why I’m reaching out to you, our community of friends and family.

They say “It takes a village” so as the Official Village Jester, I hope you may be able to help our family work through these challenges. The way you know me, I wouldn’t reach out unless circumstances demanded it.

We have already had support from some close and very dear angels but it’s important to extend our hopes beyond these wonderful people. By reaching out to the whole community, we can aggregate resources so that our immediate family and friends aren’t taxed beyond their own abilities.

So there it is. Karen and I treasure each and every one of you. Words do not do justice to the gratitude and love we feel for the world of our friends and family.
