Dear friends, family, and kind strangers,

This week, what was meant to be a joyful riding holiday in Wales turned into a nightmare for our dear friend Karen Mitchell.

While out enjoying the scenic routes with her partner, Karen suffered a serious accident on Wednesday. She came off her bike and landed in a ditch, with the motorcycle tragically landing on top of her. Karen was found unconscious, her head submerged under water, and was quickly airlifted to Stoke Hospital, where she is currently undergoing extensive scans and medical assessments.

Doctors have confirmed that Karen has broken her lower back, extending into her pelvis. There are still concerns about her ankle, and she is awaiting further MRI results. The accident has left her in immense pain, facing a long and uncertain road to recovery.

The police attended the scene and have taken her bike, which has sustained significant damage and may not be salvageable.

Karen is strong, but the journey ahead — both physically and emotionally — will be incredibly challenging. She will be out of work for the foreseeable future, and the financial strain from medical treatment, rehabilitation, and mobility needs is only beginning.
