Nine years ago, in 2016, this very deserving couple began trying for family. After a year and a half with no success, they decided to seek help. Kara's OBGYN felt that she may have endometriosis, and she underwent exploratory surgery. He indeed did find endometriosis and removed what he could. Unfortunately, there was still no success in pregnancy. They both underwent a ton of testing and procedures. Ultimately, it was found that Aaron, it's unable to have children on his own. He then underwent surgery for what's called a TESE procedure. They did find success in this, but the quality was poor. Kara then underwent a second surgery to remove more endometrioses. She then prepared for an egg retrieval surgery. The egg retrieval was extremely expensive and emotionally/ physically taxing. She had to endure dozens and dozens of injections, ultrasounds and blood work during this time. By this point, they had already spent over $20,000 out of pocket. For those who may not know, Vermont has no assistance in fertility treatment and the fertility clinics do not offer payment plans. Unfortunately, during the time they had to wait for the egg retrieval (due to cost), Aaron's sperm did not survive. They called after Kara's surgery to inform them that they were unable to use anything Aaron had provided from his TESE. Kara's eggs were then frozen. After years of blood tests, internal ultrasounds, disappointment, heartbreak, and becoming completely broke, they decided to step away from the IVF process for a bit. It has now been 9 years since they started this process, and the only thing they want in life is to be parents. They have recently consulted a fertility clinic in New York that does payment plans! The only downfall is the out of pocket payments prior to this. They will still have to pay around $5,000 before they can attempt Aaron's TESE surgery again and hopefully find success in IVF. These two do so much for others and never ask for help. They can't afford to continue this process due to the out of pocket fees. Any contribution would mean the absolute world to them and help them achieve the one thing they want in life, a baby. Thank you for your time!
