KEEP PRAYING!
Now that I have a few minutes to post this. I want to let everyone know thank you to the bottom of my heart for all the messages and prayers you have sent our way.
Kaleb was diagnosed with severe asthma last year after years of being misdiagnosed as "allergies". With that being said Kaleb had a severe asthma attack led on by the rhino virus and strep. It happened so fast and so suddenly. One minute he was fine and the next minute he was struggling to breathe and became lethargic. He had a small cough but nothing too serious. Nothing we couldn't handle from home. All of a sudden last night things started taking a turn for the worst and he started to retract it wasn't too bad last night but once we woke up this morning he was absolutely worst. He took a turn for the worst. once the kids got on the bus we rushed him to the hospital.
Once we got to the hospital they hooked him up to the oxygen machine and his oxygen was 64! We rushed and got him oxygen and then began breathing treatments continuously, his breathing was all over the place. His respiratory rate was dropping significantly so low that he stopped breathing and it took me and 2 doctors what felt like a century but was in reality a minute. To snap him back. His eyes were rolled back. His mouth was foaming ECT. His body is working so hard to breathe for him. He WAS on 100% oxygen without the oxygen his oxygen levels dropped significantly. they gave him so many meds so fast that I couldn't remember what all they gave him. I have seen over 50+ nurses and doctors today! His body is fighting so hard. They made the decision to fly up to Lexington (I was able to ride with him) once we got here to UK they had a ventilator waiting for our arrival. 20+ doctors rushed to get us and hook him up to everything. Right when we were about to put in the ventilator his respiratory doctor came in and stopped them and said how about we do a different route first then resort to that if needed. Kaleb IS NOT OUT OF THE WOODS! We have given him dozens of meds and IVs fluids and he's still on oxygen but at 50%! Still doing continuously breathing treatments. Kaleb has not gotten better but has not gotten worse. As the doctors say it to me. He is in a grace period where he can take a turn for the worst or he can make a Turn for the better and recover quickly. As of right now we are waiting to see what the meds are doing and give them time to work.
If you have read this all please continue to pray for our family. My momma heart is so broken. I feel so helpless. I wished I could take the pain away from him.
Just keep us in your prayers please.
