Dearest friends, family, and kind-hearted souls,
I am Justin Johnson from Jamaica, I'm writing to you today with a heavy heart, but also with a glimmer of hope. As many of you know, Hurricane Melissa, a devastating Category 5 storm, recently tore through Jamaica, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. Our beautiful island, our homes, and our lives have been forever changed.
I'm reaching out because I want to try and raise our family, including my dad, my aunt, and myself, has been hit incredibly hard. Hurricane Melissa didn't just graze our homes; it utterly destroyed them. The wind and rain were relentless, and when the storm finally passed, we were left with nothing but rubble and the clothes on our backs.
Thankfully, and I cannot stress this enough, we are all safe. That is the most important thing. However, the emotional and financial toll of this disaster is immense. We've lost everything – our homes, our possessions, and a sense of security that we once took for granted. This will be used to rebuild our homes that was lost in the storm.
