Hello friends and family! This summer, I am traveling with my Public Health Beyond Borders Class To Compone, a village outside of Cusco, Peru. In Peru, we will be engaging with students and the wider community on public health-related matters such as nutrition, menstrual health, hand washing, mental health, and other important topics. I will be leading the team on water activities, such as water purification and filtration.
We are traveling this June, but are purchasing the tickets now due to the rising cost of airfare in recent weeks. The flight roundtrip will cost circa $780-$800. The estimated costs can be seen in this screenshot from my travel form below.
My Amtrak Tickets to the airport cost $26.35, adding up to around $1,246.35 in total costs.
I understand times are tight for most of us, but any donation to help me offset the cost and be able to go on this trip and engage and work with the community in Compone would be appreciated. One thing I love about PHBB is that this is not a mission project; we are not there to dictate, we are working in collaboration with the community, with what they say they need. This mentality of mutality and solidarity drew me to this project, and I am grateful to be a part of it, and would be even more grateful still to be able to travel to Compone.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I extend my gratitude in advance for donations or shares I receive.
