Hi, my name is Juniper.

Around a year and a half ago, my young son and I left a domestic violence situation and started again with very little, focused only on safety and rebuilding a stable future.

Since arriving on the Gold Coast, we have been living temporarily with my elderly parents while I work to rebuild our independence.

 I registered with housing services and reached out to every support network available, while continuing to create, work, and move forward step by step.

Last year, I was fortunate to receive an artist residency through the City of Gold Coast’s Creative Spaces program. 

The Art Pod became more than a studio — it became a place to regain stability, rebuild confidence, and continue developing my science-led art practice exploring water systems, resilience, and human connection.

That residency now ends on March 30, and I am facing a critical transition point.

I am raising funds to help secure three essential foundations for the next stage of rebuilding:

• safe housing close to my son’s school

• reliable transport to continue research across Gold Coast waterways

• a small working studio space to continue my practice and income pathway

My work combines art, science, and environmental research, and I am actively applying for grants, exhibitions, and opportunities to sustain it long-term. 

This support will not replace effort — it would create the stability needed for momentum to continue.
