Please Help Me Save Junie, My Rottweiler Who Survived Abuse Beside Me

Hi, my name is Sofia and I have a one-year-old Rottweiler named Junie. I adopted my girl last year from an abusive household shortly before my own household became abusive. She watched as my partner slowly began to beat me and verbally abuse me, and when she tried to protect me, she was met with the same level of hostility.

During December of 2025, my partner was arrested for domestic violence and destruction of property. Junie and I fled the apartment, but the damage wasn’t done to just the home but also to my girl. I found out he had pushed her, kicked her, and beat her with a shoe, and that’s when I knew we couldn’t go back. No matter what.

Shortly after his arrest, all of a sudden, I was left to pay all of the rent and bills alone and sometimes wouldn’t get groceries for myself to take care of my dog. Things were bad for a while, but she stuck around me, and I had her back the same way. When things finally were turning up, I found out Junie had suffered two ACL injuries due to him assaulting her. Because he wasn’t arrested for animal cruelty and because the courts have already sentenced him, I have no evidence that she’s been abused by him as well.

My dog has been through so much, even outside of this incident. She had to undergo emergency surgery due to her having telescoping intestines at only 5 months old because her previous owners never fed her, and she ate a foreign object because she was hungry. I just want her to have the life she deserves; she is my everything, and I am doing everything I can possibly do for her.

Because of the situation we were in in December, having to fund the apartment and then moving into a new apartment, I’m financially drained. I’m 21 years old, I’ve lived on my own since I was 18, and for the first time where I’m not facing adversity and dealing with grief, I don’t wanna have to lose my best friend. Please help me help Junie.
