Julius was born with a rare genetic condition called Trisomy 5p. He was hospitalized at birth for 3 months. This condition causes him to have delay in motor skills, and developmental delay. He has to be on oxygen everyday and at 2 months old had to have surgery for a gtube placement. He also has lung disease and kidney problems. February 26 he will be getting his surgery for his kidneys that they say will be about 4 hours long. With his condition, we also knew comes seizures at some point in his life. Me and his dad were hoping it wouldn’t be until later on in life since he is only about to be a year old, but disappointingly he had his first big seizure January 18,2021..thankfully he was in the hospital at the time he is now on a medication named Keppra that is suppose to slow down or stop his seizures. So we are hoping and praying for the best with that. With these complications comes his hospitalizations, and weekly doctor visits, because of this his father has been having to miss a lot of work to provide all of our needs and also take care of our 2 year old son while I am with our 11 month old, Julius, at the Los Angeles Children’s Hospital. But when our son had his first seizure dad made sure to return to work the next day because bills and financial responsibilities don’t stop. Due to Covid and our child it has hit us financially. I know it has been a very hard time for all of us but we are hoping that you, family and friends, can help or just take your time to share this post so we can get any financial help that we can.
