“Live with cancer” is a strange statement but it is what is happening to Julie. She is living while cancer is happening to her every day.
For those of you who don’t know her, Julie has been living with cancer for two years in Super Warrior mode. Her attitude is and has been “Hurry up and fight this because I have a grandson to get to!” For those of you who do know her, you know that she is the probably the sweetest, most kind hearted person you’ve ever met. She would do anything to make your world a better place and ask nothing in return. She’s known as the “baby whisperer” having the ability to calm all babies down. Being a Grandma to an almost two-year-old is her greatest joy!
Hi, Yvonne here, Julie’s sister, asking you to help my Super Warrior sister Julie battle the costs related to Living with cancer. If you are lucky enough to have never faced this kind of thing you may not know that treatment is extensive and expensive. It breaks you down physically while trying to break you down mentally. You may not know that it also breaks you financially. Even with great insurance and generous hospital debt relief, the minimal reimbursement, lost time from work and delayed disability payments are simply not enough to cover the costs of weaponry needed to win the battle. There are endless doctor appointments, blood draws, treatment appointments, travel time and waiting time but there are not endless amounts of pto, sick or vacation time to cover. Even in a state that offers disability insurance, the costs outweigh the coverage. Rent, electricity, groceries, gas and the rest of the basic bills still come monthly. Life is for living and this battle makes it so hard.
Living through this crazy cancer journey should mean that all of Julies energy goes to the fight. Every ounce of fight goes towards healing, full and complete recovery, peace of mind that your day-to-day responsibilities are being met and not worrying about how you’re going to win the battle and then climb the mountain of debt it leaves in its wake.
I’m asking for your help to get this warrior, my sister Julie Hopfe, back to the place that makes her most happy, full time Grandma mode. Anything you can do financially, prayerfully, spiritually is graciously accepted and appreciated beyond measure. Julie would never ask you so I am because this is a battle we cannot fight alone.
Thank you for donating, sharing, spreading the word and praying for total healing. Much love and appreciation to all of you.
