I’m sharing this with permission.
Julian is someone I’ve gotten to know through the Hebron community, and right now he’s facing something a lot of people are quietly going through in Las Vegas.
His rent jumped to $1,274, the same price his previous unit had with a kitchen, while the room he’s in now has fewer amenities. At the same time, he lost rental assistance, didn’t receive food stamps this month, and although he recently got accepted into a temp agency, he hasn’t been assigned work yet.
In his words, he’s “barely getting by.”
Right now, Julian is in the middle of moving his belongings out while trying to figure out his next step, alongside his dog, Charlie. He has a short window to respond legally, but without income, that path isn’t realistic. The alternative is leaving before an eviction hits his record, which could make it even harder to find housing in the future.
He does have a friend offering a temporary place to stay, which is a huge relief, but it’s not a long-term solution, especially when you’re trying to stay stable with a pet.
This is one of those moments where a small amount of collective support can make a real difference.
Funds will go toward:
Securing temporary housing that can accommodate Julian and Charlie
Covering immediate living expenses while he waits for work placement
Preventing an eviction record that could follow him long-term
If you’ve been looking for a way to directly help someone navigating housing instability in our city, this is one way to do it.
If you can give, thank you.
If you can’t, sharing helps more than you think.
Let’s get Julian and Charlie through this moment.
**My goal is to raise three months of rent for some stable housing, which will be approx. $3000. I set the goals small at first and then increase them, as this is the most effective way to fundraise. Adding this here for transparency**
