My mom, Juana Tomas Pascual, has been in the United States for eight years, working hard to support our family—myself, Adriana Tomas Felipe, and my siblings Leticia Manuel Pascual and Ana Gabriela Tomas Tomas. She’s always been a loving and dedicated mother, especially after my dad was arrested. Even when she was barely making enough to get by, she managed to pay off our house and keep us together. She’s a sweet soul who loves going to church and cares deeply for every family member, no matter what challenges come her way.


Recently, my mom was detained during a routine check-in, and we weren’t even able to say goodbye. She’s now being held in South Louisiana, where conditions are extremely tough. We don’t know exactly when she’ll be sent back to Guatemala, but we do know she’ll be returning with no job, no home, and very little support. Our family is heartbroken and worried about how she’ll manage once she’s there.


We’re raising funds to help my mom with travel costs, food, and housing when she arrives in Guatemala. Our hope is to give her a fresh start and help her open a small business so she can support herself.
