Juan is a 21-year-old with an intellectual disability who has always been passionate about cars and working with his hands. From a young age, he’s shown a deep interest in repairing vehicles, especially those with rusted parts, and he recently earned his welding certification. Despite his dedication and hard work, Juan has faced many challenges in the workplace. Employers often cut his hours or treat him unfairly because of his disability, making it difficult for him to find stable employment and pursue his dreams.
Juan’s goal is to start doing small welding jobs on his own, focusing on car repairs and other projects in his community. However, he’s unable to afford the equipment he needs to get started. With the right tools, Juan could take on jobs independently, build his skills, and earn a living doing what he loves. He’s open to any opportunity and is determined to make the most of every chance he gets.
As Juan’s younger sister, Leslie, I’ve been helping him apply for jobs and navigate these challenges. We’re reaching out to the community for support so Juan can purchase welding equipment and take the next step toward independence. Any contribution will help Juan build a future where he can work with dignity and share his talents with others.
