Help Joyce stay in her home
Donation protected
Joyce is 83 years old. Her husband of 60+ years passed away a couple years ago. She lives alone in the home she raised her family in and has been recently diagnosed with a heart condition that makes her blood pressure drop dramatically when she stands up. When stands up she is at high risk of fairing and falling. She has repeatedly requested a motorized wheelchair from her insurance for 6+months but has been denied. She is blessed to still have a very clear mind and values maintaining some level of independence, but she needs help.
The improvements we would like to provide Joyce are the following:
- Replace broken porch light at front door
- Install new storm door with lock and blind (current door is broken).
- Build ADA ramp from kitchen to garage for ease of access.
- Purchase a motorized wheelchair to enable her to move around her home autonomously without risk of a dangerous fall.
- Re-seal her driveway which is badly deteriorating due to lack of maintenance.
- Build a 2x4 and plywood storage area and counter so she can access her belongings. Her garage currently has high shelves she cannot reach.
- Stock her fridge and pantry with nutritious food and pre-made meals for the holidays.
- Prepay her utility bills for the month of December
Thank you for your consideration and your generosity at any level!
Our goal is to have 2-5 projects such as this one. Any funds that are raised above the needs for Joyce will be rolled over to the next project. 100% of all funds go directly to purchases for the recipient or to hire contractors/professionals when it’s beyond the scope of volunteers.
Here’s an example of a projects from last year:
