Hi everyone,
My son, Jourdan, is a 30-year-old adult living with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Epilepsy. One of the highlights of his year is attending Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp, a place he's cherished since his teenage years. This amazing camp provides incredible opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities to connect and thrive. Last year, camp was unfortunately canceled, making this year even more important for Jourdan.
When we lived in Oregon, Jourdan's camp costs were covered by state funding. However, since moving to Idaho, these vital programs aren't available, and the financial burden of camp falls entirely on us. We thought last year was the last year at camp but the camp has restructured the ages of campers they serve, so Jourdan is able to attend this Summer. It's a bittersweet that this Summer may be the last, and we're hoping to make this experience as memorable as possible for him.
The cost of camp itself is $1637 for the week. Unfortunately, that's just the beginning. We also have the added expenses of travel from Idaho to Mt. Hood, and the cost of my lodging in Oregon for the week as his emergency contact.
With the final camp payment due at the beginning of June, we're reaching out for support with a portion of these costs. This camp means the world to Jourdan, and it gives him a chance to connect with others who understand his experiences.
We understand times are tough, and any contribution, big or small, would be deeply appreciated.

Thank you for considering supporting Jourdan's summer at camp. Please share our GoFundMe page with your network. We are so grateful for your generosity and kindness.
Sincerely,
Cherie & Jourdan
