Joshua’s journey over the past decade has been filled with uncertainty and hardship. He found himself surrounded by untrustworthy people, made some poor choices, and suffered the devastating loss of close family members. These challenges culminated in his arrest, what we believe was an unfair prosecution, and a lengthy prison sentence. Because Joshua did not have the financial means to secure proper legal representation, he was left without a fair chance to defend himself. He has now served three years of a fifteen-year sentence, and our family is desperate to see justice done.

The funds we are raising will go directly toward hiring an attorney to review Joshua’s case and provide the legal counsel he was previously denied. We have been assured by a representative of an attorney that, with the proper resources, an appeal could be filed that may lead to Joshua’s release. This is our hope—to give Joshua the opportunity to come home and rebuild his life.

Joshua’s story is especially heartbreaking because of the losses he has endured. In 2020, he lost his older brother, who was disabled from birth, and just six months later, his mother passed away from undiagnosed cancer. His only surviving immediate family is his father, who is legally blind, cannot drive, and relies solely on social security. Joshua’s father lives alone and depends on other family members who do not live nearby. We are asking for your help to clear Joshua’s name and bring him home so he can care for his father.
